Scale 1:550,000. International Travel Maps edition.
ITMB is very pleased to publish the second of our regional maps of Turkey, covering the central portions of the country and especially the popular Cappadocia region. Turkey itself is a fascinating country. This map covers the portion from the Mediterranean coast all the way to Syria and north to the Black Sea port of Samsun.
This part of Turkey is somewat less sophisticated than the western coastal cities and Istanbul, but it evokes memories of the many e,pires that have traversed the region. Cappadochia was created centuries ago by local people fearing the hordes of invaders that periodically appeared on the horizon and secreted themselves in soft stone caves carved in an inhospitable part of the country. Today, this is one of Turkey's touristic attractions, but the map is much more than that, this is detailed road map to explore an exciting part of the world.

Item Code : Turkey South Coast Road and Physical Travel Reference Map.
Scale 1:550,000. International Travel Maps edition.
Turkey is a wonderful country to visit and very popular. At the moment, due to the war in neighboring Syria, incidents occur occasionally that alarm. There is not much any can do about these extremist attacks, but it is important to remember that they are very isolated, limited to certain areas, and happen in all too many countries around the world. If we allow ourselves to be intimidated into not travelling by anyone, those using terror tactics win.
The south, or Antalyan coast of Turkey is probably the most touristic in the country, loaded with hotels and superlative beaches. The region also has some wonderful Greek and Roman ruins to visit. This double sided map covers from Izmir on the west coast to Antalya on the the south coast. The interior is also well covered. Turkey has an excellent road network and a sophisticated car rental system. A popular past time is to rent a car for a day trip to explore the hinterland and this map is perfect for that purpose.
The remains of ancient Greek and Roman cities tend to be fairly close to the coast, such as Ephesus, near Kusadasi. Interior cities, such as Burdur, are traditionally historic cities with castles and are well worth visiting. This is a map for exploring. Turkey is a huge country; maps of this nature break down its attractions into sizes usable by the average traveler.

Scale 1:1,100,000. Size 27"x39". International Travel Maps edition.
Turkey is a fascinating country so much potential, and seemingly unable to focus on progress as opposed to ideology. Touristically, the country is quite safe, but internal politics are as divided here as in Egypt (and seemingly every Muslim country) between secularists who want a ‘normal’ country with a division between secular and religious affairs and those wanting a more traditional religious society where religious values shape the society.
Our first edition sold out in a little more than a year, which is pretty amazing in itself, and we have made major improvements to this edition to maintain its popularity. The biggest change is that we have more strongly emphasized the major road network, as most visitors stay on the well-travelled routes around the country, rather than taking back roads to small villages.
The second change has been to increase the font size for major urban areas, to make them easier to read. Turkey is a very large country geographically and there is no way cartographically to overcome the spatial relationships of the east-west stretch to the north-south relative shortness. If we have erred, it is on the side of detail, but for anyone driving around the country, such detail is essential.
