Canada Road and Physical Travel Reference Map. 2nd Edition.Canada Road and Physical Travel Reference Map. 2nd Edition.
Scale 1:6,000,000. Size 27"x39". International Travel Maps edition. This is our second step at mapping the second largest country on earth, and we decided that a fresh approach was needed. Canada is too large to map in the same way that normal-sized countries can be portrayed, so we have prepared a political map of the country for this edition on one side, with each province or territory designated by a different colour and the road and rail network portrayed. Please keep in mind that Nunavut is four times larger than Europe, and that at least three provinces are each larger than all of Europe put together, and the vastness of Canada starts to sink in. Open this side and imagine spending six days and seven nights on a train just going from Toronto to Vancouver. This is a very accurate map, prepared by the Canada Map Office, and is in English and French. The other side of the page is where we have become innovative. It consists of 10 large inset maps of particularly noteworthy parts of the country. For example, the Rocky Mountains and Yukon have expanded coverage, as does Newfoundland, the Toronto region, southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and the Ottawa to Montreal to Quebec City portion of central Canada. In other words, we portray the entire country on one side and the most important segments for tourism on the other side. The map is printed on a very durable paper.

Eastern Canada Tourist Road ATLAS.Eastern Canada Tourist Road ATLAS.
Various scales. Size 5"x 7". 157 pages. International Travel Maps edition. This is a HUGE atlas, not in terms of overall size (it is the same 5x7 format as all of our travel atlases), but in thickness. The atlas covers all of Ontario and Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, and Newfoundland/Labrador. This is a much larger geographic area than all of Europe, and fortunately we do not have the density of roads or rail connection of that land mass, but it has stretched our abilities to the cartographic limits. The advantage of this atlas is that it combines five different map sheets into one format, showing all of the highways and passenger rail services connecting this vast hinterland.

Western & Northern Canada Tourist Road ATLAS.Western & Northern Canada Tourist Road ATLAS.

Scale 1:1,125,000. Size 5"x 7". 160 pages. International Travel Maps edition. This project has taken a lot of time and effort to complete. We published the Eastern Canada Atlas two years ago to replace the licensed artwork that was no longer available. Then Western Canada sold out more quickly than we expected and it has taken Lan and her team more time than expected to prepare this artwork. In part, this is because the new atlas also includes all of Arctic Canada (Yukon, NWT, and Nunavut) as well as BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. This is the thickest atlas we’ve ever produced, at 160 pages. Each province (of which there are 4) and Territory (of which there are 3) has been shown to best advantage; for example, Saskatchewan fills 22 pages at 1:125,000 scale, plus four additional pages for urban insets. BC takes 9 pages, plus five more for insets. The artwork covers a vast expanse of land, showing roads, rail lines, camping spots, rivers, lakes, towns, and touristic attractions. This book encompasses seven ITMB maps, which would cost the buyer $80 to duplicate. It is also our first bound book, as opposed to a stapled book. As such, it can be displayed spine outwards, which appeals to bookstores. Combined with its sister volume, the second largest country on earth is now comprehensively portrayed.

  14. $17.95

    Item Code : ITMB21350

Canada's Maritime Provinces Road and Tourist Map.Canada's Maritime Provinces Road and Tourist Map.
Scale 1:530,000. Size 27"x39". International Travel Maps edition. Atlantic coast provinces of Canada remain one of our most popular travel destinations for Canada. Nova Scotia, with historic Halifax, has been British since the 1749. New Brunswick morphed out of Acadia with the arrival of tens of thousands of refugees fleeing persecution and violence in the southern American colonies in the 1770s. Prince Edward Island, now linked to the mainland by Confederation Bridge, was a separate colony until 1873. The three combine ‘down-east’ hospitality with small-town friendliness. There is lots of history to enjoy, and for Anne of Green Gables fans, Cavendish farm still exists and is visited by thousands of enthusiasts every year. This is the map of the Magnetic Hill, the Petitcodiac Bore, Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg, and dozens of interesting fishing ports. Easily reached from the rest of Canada and from the State of Maine, the Maritimes remains one of the most-visited places on earth, year after year. This double-sided map shows New Brunswick on one side and Nova Scotia/PEI on the other, along with an excellent inset map of Halifax.
  15. $17.95

    Item Code : ITMB6098

Nunavut Road and Physical Travel Reference Map.

Scale 1:1,850,000. Size 27"x39". International Travel Maps edition.

The far north of Canada, north of 60 degrees, consists of three territories; the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. Until now, there has never been a proper map of the territory that was carved off from the NWT a quarter century ago.

With only 30,000 people and a scattering of settlements, Nunavut is larger than western Europe in area. This map took us years to prepare, using 1:250,000 government topo maps as a base and tracing thousands of little lakes. The traditional passageway of the fabled Northwest Passage is also shown.

The most northerly civilian community in the world is on the map – Grise Bay, as well as Alert, the most remote place on earth.
