Benin is a country located in West Africa. It has a rich culture related to the socio-political origin. The total area of this country is 114,763 so km, and the total population is 10,879,984 as per the census was done in 2015. The country has a rich historical background. Initially, the country was known as Dahomey during the colonial period. Later it was known as “Benin”. It has been a part of re-establishment at the time of British era, Portuguese empire and later at the time of post-colonization. There is a total of 12 states in this country wherein the biggest being Alibore, with a total area spread over 26,242 so km. It is bounded by the Togo to the west and to the state of Burkino Faso in the north. The area is marshy and dotted with lakes and lagoons.
