Includes 8 audio CD discs ( = 8 hours), and a 136-page text book. This course in modern spoken Persian offers recordings by native speakers and emphasizes practical everyday language. Lesson units include dialogs, vocabulary, and in some instances self-tests. Persian sounds with no counterpart in English that can cause difficulty for speakers of English, are given attention in special drills. This text is entirely in transcription (Roman Lettering). Persian language script is not introduced. A key to the exercises and self-tests, and an English-Persian language glossary (dictionary) are included in the appendix.
